DisneyLand HK Check

My most awaited vacation came to end on Mumbai international airport. The Hongkong-Macau-Shenzan trip by Thomas cook, full paise wasool. For me and my parents it was the first time a visa was stamped on the passport, made some 6 years back .

These particular places were chosen over Singapore-Malaysia (my bro already visited Thailand-Bangkok) because this trip had Disney land. Since childhood, I always wanted to go the  Disney Land. I have grown up watching Disney cartoons - I still love the Walt Disney movies. They have taken technology to another level. This Disney land was small in size but surely worth the hype :-D The rides were awesome. The roller-coasters make you scream, take it from someone who has been sitting alone in each and every ride in any park in India. Space Mountain - roller coaster - pitch dark - lights like meteorites - twists and turns like actual space ship - speed like light - man that's a ride :-) Also a super nice laser video game - u are inside the game - have targets to hit - have a laser gun in hand - now that's how you enjoy a video game. Plus the shows - a must see, the Disney land shows - Lion king musical - 3 D by Walt Disney, okay now that's how you are supposed to feel, when Donald duck is falling through a pit on the screen you should feel the gravity is pulling you down, and he falls in the water, water droplets splash on your face. The whole architecture the castle, the streets, the trees, the garden, the entrance, the train, entrance to every ride.......Just awesome :-D The fire crackers at the shutdown totally worth the wait.

This trip also included the Venetian in Macau. I will surely visit Venice Paris some time in future but this 'Winter in Venice' was beyond expectations. Words are not enough to describe the beautiful lake with the boat-ride, the bridges in Venice style, the evening sky ceiling and all the branded shops, lightings and Christmas decorations. No camera photography did any justification to the third floor of the Venetian. Macau is a mini las-vegas, many casinos are replications of those in LasVegas, 92% of GDP of Macau is from casinos. The added attractions along with the 24 hrs gambling were - the Dragon shows, water theaters, crystal/diamond shows, couldn't attend all but those I did see where one of the kind.

There were regular tourist spots in all these places - Macau tower (world's highest bungy jump 232m), Ama temple (you can test your luck there), ruins of St Paul's church, the ferry ride from HK to Macau and Macau to Shenzan, Chinese tea (though my mum, fan of indian tea, hated it), birds eye view of fisherman's lifestyle, floating restaurant, jade shops - jewelry Chinese style, fang shui shops, Lohu - typical pallika bazaar of China (imitation of Louis Vuitton, Rado and what not :p), bamboo workshops, Victoria Peak, Madam Tussads and Window of the world.

Madam Tussauds - now I get what the hype is all about. I am a big fan from now on, Einstein - Meryl Streep - Obama - Gandhiji - Lady Gaga - Amitabh - Beckham - Elvis - Robert Pattison - she is a genius. Also Window of the World in Shenzan is worth a mention. So in china there is imitation of everything, also the best of the monuments :-D This park had everything from taj mahal to great canyons to pyramids, nicely done and the best of all was a small mimic of London with all the skyscrapers and the London bridge. I also got an opportunity to watch a Chinese musical with awesome lighting and acting, I did not get the entire story, it was some version of Cinderella, there were step sisters, fairy, shoe but also another villain and the prince died so hero was someone else, I am still looking for the story.

All and all a vacation well spent :-D I would like to add, sim is a big problem - when you are travelling in three different cities staying for 2 days in each, communication to homeland is an issue, 3g - wifi - also not so easy to get, wazzapp also doen't work. Also currency is a problem - there are few worldwide recognized currencies and there are local currencies, lots is lost in exchange from one to another and lots is lost because x currency is not valid outside mx country :-| Khair this is no reason to not to travel, I did buy an awesome overcoat in 50% off :-D But ya, vegetarians beware, not so easy to get vegetarian food in such places, MC D doesn't have any veg burger in China.
