That thing called Love – By Tuhin Sinha

Like the twin towers Mumbai monsoon is also a great back drop for many movies. “That thing called Love” is a novel where Mumbai monsoon is the hero. Recently I have read lot of novels; I got some 8 Indian writer’s books just for light reading. And the only one which I liked among them was the one I read in last and it was this one. About the story I actually appreciate the writer very good work, It is true-story of a normal person- doesn’t seem phony-does not revolve around crap like the other young writers.I have one complain against this writer, the vocab he has used is too much. Looks like he was preparing for CAT or TOFEL when he wrote the book. It is more of show off than the proper usage of good words.

It is about three guy: Firstly a guy who marries his love but she still hasn’t got over her first love, secondly a love marriage that is about to break as the honeymoon period of marriage and courtship is over and lastly a guy trying to forget his long lost love gets comfort in dating a married woman. In the present era when a relationships break or people grow apart it is so easy to find comfort in other people; not a single person is wrong or unethical here, it’s the situation. As this is not the age where you can try gandhiri or ahinsa (i.e. if someone slaps on right cheek put you left cheek in front) and so this is not the time where “if you love someone set her/him free she/he comes back to you she/he is yours or she/he never was”. If you like the person- tell them how important they are, make them feel special or they will find what you can’t give in someone else. Everybody wants to be happy when it is lacking here they are independent enough to walk off and find it somewhere else. And another important thing once married doesn’t mean you are together for ever, you need to keep the charm alive-keep the romance alive- if you want to live happily ever after. And it requires lot of effort from both the ends. You need both the hand be it for clapping or for mourning.

I am impressed by this writer cause he nicely showed emotions by adding beautiful shayaries here and there. Here are few of my favorites:

Kabhi kissi ko mukammal jahan nahin milta,

Kahin zameen to kahin aasman nahin milta

Tere jahan mein aisa nahin ke pyar na ho,

Jahan umeed ho utana wahan nahin milta.##

Taruf(feelings) rog ho jaye to usko bhulana behtar,

Taluk(relationship) bojh ban jaye to usko todna acha

Who afasana jise anjam tak lana na ho mumkin,

Usse ek khubsurat mod dekar chodna acha ##

And the classic, for every girl next door

Tumhe bhi yaad nahi aur main bhi bhool gaya,

Who lanha kitna haseen tha, magar fuzool gaya!!!!

Michael Jackson - I'll Be There

You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back
Where there is love, I'll be there

I'll reach out my hand to you,
I'll have faith in all you do
Just call my name and I'll be there

Chorus:
And oh - I'll be there to comfort you,
Build my world of dreams around you
I'm so glad that I found you
I'll be there with a love that's strong
I'll be your strength, I'll keep holding on
Yes I will, yes I will

Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter
Togetherness, well that's all I'm after
Whenever you need me, I'll be there
I'll be there to protect you
With an unselfish love I respect you
Just call my name and I'll be there

(Chorus)

If you should ever find someone new
I know he'd better be good to you
'Cos if he doesn't, I'll be there

Don't you know, baby, yeah yeah
I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name, I'll be there

(Just look over your shoulders, honey - ooh)

I'll be there, I'll be there, whenever you need me, I'll be there

Don't you know, baby, yeah yeah
I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name, I'll be there...

I had never heard this song until last night.I was watching "This is it" and I fell in love with the song and the singer. This guy is the most soft spoken star I can think of, he was so cute to the crew and it was so clear in the way people were respecting him during those practice session, how in the world can someone kill this guy. The best star ever. "Beat it" is one of the songs I liked but after listening to yesterdays concert I know he has given some really sweet romantic songs. My god he is the greatest superstar :-)

And here is the youtube link for three most beautiful performances for the same song :

Deception Point

I haven’t read The Last symbol of Dan brown, among the rest of books I will rate Deception Point 2nd next to only The Da Vinci code. Da Vinci Code is a classic, it is really awesome. The facts in a Dan brown novel are true and when you google regarding that you get the proofs in front of your eyes. Actually the best part about his novels is the knowledge, your scope of thinking widens if the writer is good but hats off to this guy for the research he does. I never bothered to look at the paintings The Last Supper or the Mona Lisa but if you read the Da Vinci, at least once you will try to check the authencity of what writer is saying. Many controversies were raised by this novel, but it is worth a read. About Deception point apart from Nasa tales and awesome election campaigns, the suspense is damn good. I have read so many suspense novels and this adds to my favorites. In the novel he so clearly explains structural and chemical composure of a meteorite, and how they are formed in space and can be formed on Earth. His novels at times give a lot of details but the facts and figures are amazing and interesting. I will read the last novel after some time, I have heard it is good and I want to read it when I got time, will enjoy and relish it

3 movies in a weekend-Kites, How to train your dragon, badmaash company Rajneeti

This (May 22nd- 23rd) weekend was movie weekend for me. I watched 3 movies, I wanted to watch 2 more but didn’t get tickets or show was only late night. This Friday Kites got released it was the most awaited movie. I love hrithik and this movie was his comeback in knph role, I had to see it plus Barbara had created so much hype how one can miss the movie. In Chennai to get weekend tickets in Satyam, we need to book on Tuesday night itself otherwise it is difficult to get. I made my friend stay up till midnight on Tuesday to get the tickets. Even my office friends wanted to go for a movie (not kites at all) so I also got tickets booked for how to train your dragon the same day. Now it’s Saturday morning and I am excited for kites, I checked reviews it’s a horrible but its hrithik roshan so I don’t care. About movie I will say- a lady after the movie said what a waste of Saturday morning; I guess I need not add more. The story was predictable, only 2 good songs but the locations were exotic and Hrithik could give shivers to any of those Hollywood actors, his dance I have no words to describe it. But I will say it’s worth watch at least for hrithik, may be I am biased but watch it. About how to train your dragon, it was a nice 3d kiddie movie. Fun to watch and relax; had a good time with friends. The next day i.e. Sunday I had only lunch plans with my friends suddenly we saw tickets for Badmaash Company were available. I heard it was a fun movie so thought will watch it. The movie as my friend said was glamorous version of Rocket Singh; just add-on that in this the hero becomes distracted and later when he losses everything, he realizes his mistake. All in all nice movie fun to watch humor is good shahid is cute songs are lively.
Rajneeti – Once in long time a movie like this comes. It is a movie that revolves around death plots, people keep dying. It has little humor but good one. The story is not as we thought it would be no way related to congress or Sonia Gandhi, but the story wasn’t new either, quiet a resemblance to Mahabharata. The songs are really nice my personal fav is More Piya. Ranbeer proved he is not only a fun actor but also really good in serious cinema. Katrina looks pretty. It is worth a watch and a must watch.

Co-operate journey

Hmmm as I in my account farewell I said- I came to cooperate world decided I should study and now leaving. I still remember the days I was waiting for joining, horrible days just wanted joining date somehow bas bola le company wale, I was placed in jun 07 finished col in apr 08 and got call only in mar 09. I had eventful academy training. I had the best as well as the worst time in ma life in academy. People say you don’t make friends in cooperate world and it is so damn true but I made really good friends in College to Cooperate transition. I got closer to my school and college friends as well as made really good friends in DN007. And I know those people will stay with me for as long as possible. Okay now about the actual cooperate world, as usual for no choice of my own – I was trained in dot net and then put in an account that dealt with PeopleSoft CRM. It’s so normal in these companies, in such a big organization they cannot understand everyone’s interests’ right plus they have to assign us any where for any technology: it’s recession time. Whatever crap? But initially we are so enthusiastic to learn we accept all challenges and perform our best without knowing the fact no one bothers about the caliber. When you join company fresh after college it is more of luck that defines your career. Not only me I know so many people who didn’t get a chance to prove themselves or even show what they can do. I know good coders put in support project, not even support and maintenance it is only support. And their careers are set that way even when they shift companies they have to stick to support, only escape go for studies. Best was when I was testing, we have job rotation here development testing we keep people shifting here. The big shots in the project are so damn busy that they forget their decisions affect people. I will say even when you assign the most hated work to a trainee they are ready to work for it with full interest but sometime you need to value them and their interests otherwise they won’t value you neither will they work with any efficiency. The life I had played such a great role in my Gate preparation. I scored 1.6 percentile more than last year, when I was at home and the fact stands that last yr 40 k ppl gave the exam and this year it crossed 2 lakh candidates. My cooperate journey was not a total disaster I learnt lot I had good time of trying my best not to be myself. If you keep your eyes open you earn a lot from other people’s actions. In the end I was like- get me out of here and my account manager did help me out in that 

Samosa day

So this was last weekend (16th May) – Sunday. I had a packet of maida in fridge since really long time, so had to use it or throw it (that’s my rule). I promised a friend of mine I will cook. That is different I said I will cook American choupsuey. Now I asked my mom how to make the dough n all for samosa. She told why are you cooking samosa, it’s so difficult, don’t try, better make something else. But it’s me I asked her how to make it and tried. So its Sunday evening plan, in afternoon me and my mate made the potato filling. We had sandwich of the same filling as lunch. Then we tried preparing the dough. Actually my mom had said making dough is most difficult but I made it as easy as poori dough so thought it was a success. Me and my roommate kept thinking why mumma said not to try, why did she say it’s hard. Then after nice card playing afternoon we started to kitchen. It is then we realized why mumma said it was difficult. We weren’t able to make flat thin chapatti of it, it was so brittle it was breaking; we weren’t able to make the crust of samosa. We used oil, used dry Atta somehow to make the crust, but no success. Whatever we try we weren’t able to cast it into semicircle to make the samosa exterior crust. Everyone tried their hands on the crust even who came to eat tried but no success. Then finally we gave up we made whatever shape it came and just covered the filling, whatever be the shape it will taste like samosa right. So then we just somehow made something that was like samosa. In the sense it had maida for crust and potato filling, it had weird shapes. We started to fry, we spoiled lot of oil as the filing was coming out of the crust and also it was taking unusually long time to cook so oil was burning too much. The outcome was some horrible looking, some samosa looking; and about taste – it tasted something like samosa. The filling was really nice but the crust was too hard  Anyways I conclude it still success, the outcome was equal to the agenda  The classic thing was when I told mom about my troubles she told probably the maid was spoiled, I got nice shock I was worried full night , thankfully my friends didn’t get sick. I realized all these should once be made in front of seniors, cooking requires lot of experience.
