Which
book is your pride possession and why ? Or which is your favorite book Justify?
Recommend a book - Here it is - the answer to "Why my favorite Novel
is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen"
Pride
and Prejudice is among the first few classics I read.
Set
in the early 19th century, the descriptions of the walks and balls by the
author is extensive. The author gives very minute details, of the dresses and
the feather in the hat or the statues of Pemberley. What I really love about
Jane Austen novel is that everything is justified with a valid reason. Also,
the sequence of the plots are very well connected - hats off to the author for
maintaining the rhythm.
Out
of many works by Jane Austen I am particularly a fan of Pride and Prejudice,
because of the way author portrays positive as well as negative traits of
almost every individual without making them villains. The fact that the
protagonist "Elizabeth" (prejudice yet intelligent) and the lead male
"Darcy" (proud yet generous) both have negative traits but yet the
author somehow still manages to make you fall in love with them, is
appreciative. The plot has some conspiracy, some drama, little suspense as well
as a beautiful love story. I am a big fan of love stories with beautiful endings,
and this particular one tops the chart.
The
novel has varied kind of characters -
The
loving yet tied hands father
The
caring yet blabbering mother
The
beautiful but innocent sister
The
beautiful but silly sister
The
determined but not so skilled sister
The
loving yet opportunistic friend
The
humble yet stupid cousin
The
proud yet logical Lady
The
handsome yet easily persuaded groom
The
handsome yet cunning soldier
The
loving and caring Aunt/Uncle [I don’t have any negative for the Gardiners]
The
caring yet talkative friend
The
beautiful and skilled [Georgiana Darcy]

Spoiler Ahead **
I
had never come across a more powerful fictional character like Darcy. [Now Roark
(The Fountainhead) and Dagny (Atlast Shrugged) are also part of that list]. The
rash and rational judgments by the character are equally justified by the
author. At the same time the author explores the concept of love, which can
make a most balanced mind dizzy.
There
is a most distressing yet the most loving letter written by Darcy to
Elizabeth - I simply fell in love with the way Darcy proposes Elizabeth. The
first proposal cannot be ruder and the second could not be more desperate.
Finally
to conclude, the novel is a perfect mix of drama and love. And the author has a
way to keep the readers captivated.
